Živorad Nikolic was born in 1983 in Kragujevac, Serbia. At the age of six he joined the Miloje Milojevic School of Music as a classical accordion player and was accepted as the most promising student. While at the school, Živorad studied with Vesna Djurdjevic, Radomir Tomic and Radenka Ristic.
He entered many national and international competitions in Italy, France and Germany, where he picked up top honours. He also has worked with acclaimed accordionists such as Elzbet Mozer, Jacque Morne and Matti Rantanen

In 2002, Živorad was accepted by the National Conservatory of Music in Marseilles where he studied with Professor Zan-Mark Fabiano. In his first year in Marseilles, he received 'd'unanimite' - a superior level award and was invited to play at a concert in the Napoleon Palace in Marseilles. He also won a top prize in the 'Gala Trophy of Reine Quilici' which was followed by a special charity concert at the Theatre De la Criee. In 2004 Živorad received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he currently studies with Professor Owen Murray. He is recognized as one of the Academy's leading classical accordionists.

Being a highly acclaimed classical accordionist from a very young age has never stopped Živorad from playing folk music. In his words, “...everybody in Serbia is born with a passion for their music. It naturally accompanies life on all occasions, if happy or sad. This is just the way we live. You can't imagine any celebration without music creating the most amazing atmosphere. The accordion is counted as one of the favourite instruments..."

Embedded in this tradition, Živorad grew up performing and expressing himself through his music. Experiencing him play Eastern European music makes "your heart melt and your soul dance...
